In this business I deal with stress and its effects on the mental health of people experiencing stress. The last think I would ever want to do is to increase the stress effects a client might be experiencing by making dealing with me any more difficult than it needs to be - which is not difficult at all.

That being the case, I will keep these Terms and Conditions brief, reasonable and concise.

So, let's get on with this...

When you decide to consult me regarding your mental health, business, sports or personal problems, we will dedicate our first session to gathering historical data that will assist me to strategise an intervention to help you deal with your presenting issues. I will provide you with a written version of the proposed intervention strategy.

At commencement fo your second session, I will seek your comments on the proposed intervention strategy, if you have not previously provided them by email. After we finish addressing your comments or concerns, we will proceed to engage on the proposed strategy.

As we proceed it is likely we will need to adjust strategy based on new information arising, improvements in certain areas, and any number of other possible factors, and we will discuss and agree any adjustments verbally before proceeding with them.

I usually propose that we work together for two to three sessions and then either of us can choose not to continue working together with no explanation required. In fact, I see little point in people working in psychotherapy if there is not a relationship of trust, and so I adopt a policy that a client may withdraw without any penalty whatever, at any time they so decide to do.
